Portsmouth University is setting up a new degree course to train the high-tech security gadget gurus and cybersleuths. The degree - BSc in security technology -is the first degree course in the UK to combine online encryption with the study of the underpinning technologies behind surveillance and security gadgets.

Students will master the use of retinal scanning, through-wall radar imaging, infrared surveillance and detection, and online encryption.
