Scottish Wellcome for science

The Scottish Science Trust has won a Pounds 5 million grant from the Wellcome Trust to promote understanding of science and engineering through a network of science centres. Sir Donald MacKay, trust convener, said the project was on the way to meeting its Pounds 10 million target, with pledges of another Pounds 3 million, largely from Scottish business. Dame Bridget Ogilvie, Wellcome Trust director, said its grant would complement its support for high-quality biomedical and related research in Scotland.
