Scottish merger plan

Lecturers' union the Scottish Further and Higher Education Association is balloting its members over a merger with the Educational Institute of Scotland.

The proposed "transfer of engagements" would see the 760-strong SFHEA join the 4,600-member EIS College Lecturers Association to form a new Further Education Lecturers Association. The SFHEA's few higher education members would transfer to the EIS University Lecturers Association.
