Science panel proposal

The Government will use the G8 Summit on July 6-8 to seek support for an international science panel to help reduce the impact of natural hazards, such as tsunamis and earthquakes, and advise governments.

A working group of leading UK scientists, chaired by Sir David King, the Government's chief science adviser, this week published its report The Role of Science in Physical Natural Hazard Assessment .
