Science council moves

The government's science policy advisory group, the Council on Science and Technology, is to be taken out of the Department of Trade and Industry to reflect its cross-departmental role. Sir David King, the government's chief science adviser, is to take over as chair from science minister Lord Sainsbury. Members are independent and come from academia, business and charities.
