"But they retained scepticism about Chinese involvement in Africa, expressing fear that the Asian superpower was “colonising us softly”." Well spotted, and as those who've worked for Chinese 'companies' in African mines have experienced, not so softly at times either. Perhaps some of the 'frogs' will realise and leave the 'pot' before it gets too hot?
