The motto of the people that have been destroying Venezuela since 1999 was 'restructure', 'reinstitutionalize' the country. That has meant the destruction of autonomous universities. Thousands of students, academics and administrative staff have had to emigrate. Universities'infraestructure has been destroyed. There are no resources to research and teaching activities have been reduced to the minimal due to the economic restrictions. I agree with the academic interviewed, if Maduro stays in power, universities in Venezuela (the real universities) would disappear!
