Prevent plagiarism

Student union leaders have called on institutions to review their sometimes "crude and unacceptable" attempts to tackle the growing problem of plagiarism in higher education.

Motions submitted to the National Union of Students conference in Blackpool this week suggest that institutions should do more to prevent plagiarism by working with student unions to publicise academic regulations rather than imposing "incredibly harsh penalties" on those guilty of breaking them.
