Having witnessed the positive bias towards those from the 'right side of the tracks', privately educated, rich potential future donation prospect students it comes as little surprise those from the 'wrong side of the tracks' work harder, in part to improve their life chances and also to prove their self worth. That those from better off backgrounds play more sport is unsurprising, sport enables them to show off their prowess to others whilst taking care of their need for winning in competition, for the less affluent winning is achieving a good degree without the easy life having the backing of moneyed parents provides.
