Blaise Compaore, president of Burkino Faso, has ordered the closure of university campuses in Ouagadougou and Bobodiolasso after students supported a three-day stoppage by civil servants over the death of Robert Zongo, editor of a liberal newspaper. An independent inquiry revealed that Mr Zongo was assassinated by a presidential death squad.
