Scotland has just one Catholic v-c ("Spot the Catholic", THES, September 10). Is this because the country is dominated by Protestant bigots? Who knows? I do know that Scotland has only one woman principal - Joan Stringer at Queen Margaret College, Edinburgh. But I don't know whether this is because the country is dominated by male chauvinist pigs.
