Bristol, Nottingham Trent and Manchester universities each won a European Award for Languages this week. Manchester was singled out for its project that helps to link its foreign students with teenage language learners; Nottingham Trent for its initiative that takes languages to those unlikely to sign up for a course, such as prisoners on remand and nurses; and Bristol for its course that helps students to learn languages through theatre.
