Medicine is major advance

According to an Office of Science and Technology study published this week, 57 per cent of people cited the development of medicines, 51 per cent organ transplants and 43 per cent the eradication of diseases as the most important advances to society to arise from scientific research. Only 1 per cent cited genetically modified foods.
