Media students direct urban TV channel

Media students from Salford University are behind Britain's first campus-based terrestrial television channel, currently broadcasting to the greater Manchester and Salford area.

Ron Cook, Channel M's director, and head of Salford's school of media, music and performance, who holds a restricted service television licence, said: "We are delivering a professional service in partnership with the private sector and are delivering a genuine service to the area."
