The National Academic Mailing List service is to move from Mailbase at the University of Newcastle to the Central Laboratories of the Research Councils at Rutherford Appleton Laboratory in Oxfordshire from August 1. Launched in 1990 under the leadership of Jill Foster, Mailbase now has 2,636 lists with 192,745 members globally. More than half the staff in UK higher education institutions benefit from the service.
