Appalling indeed, perhaps reflective of poor leadership and proper governance of education these past few years. There seems to be much back peddling, it would seem to those outside (& even Brits) that the UK cannot get its' act together in many important areas. A grim time for students, parents and educators.
A fine example of why political interference and attempts to micro-manage education must be resisted. It's not what politicians are hired for, we have educators in whose area of expertise these matters lie and interference from the politically-motivated OfQual have messed things up big style.
