2003? That's a little late, surely. I, for one, had published on Korean pop music before then, and the term Hallyu is routinely considered to be the Korean pronunciation of the Chinese term used either when CLON performed in Taiwan or from when H.O.T. toured China – that would be 1997 and 1998. Keith Howard.
