I had assumed that this would take place at some point so I am glad it is now out in the open and there is sufficient time to get the link between HE outcomes (as measured by the TEF) and funding inputs. The most obvious and simple way would be to have three funding tariffs and institutions get Gold, Silver or Bronze money in the same way as they get Bronze, Silver and Gold TEF awards. However, this Government seem to still be rolling out Payment By Results type initiative that were initially introduced by Oliver Letwin (I think). I would like to think PbR is off the table for HE but I am not so sure
