Well yes indeed, there are so mnay of these odd means of classification with odd weightings which seem to be designed to exaggerate the students best marks at the expense of their weaker marks or even to discount the weaker marks themselves to allow the student the best result when all marks should be cohnted equally acroos the hours programme. That's how we got in to this silly mess. Of course, our rather eccentric degree classification system which long ago ceased to be for purpose compounds all this.
Shows that the grading system is not fit for purpose.
