A European Commission-funded consortium of learning institutions is launching a postgraduate degree to train specialists in the art and mechanics of information. FORM-AMI, whose members include universities in Finland, France, Germany and Sweden, trains specialists in multimedia and information technologies.

The postgraduate course will lead to a degree awarded by the University of Aix-Marseilles II. Registration is accepted up to June 30 only through the website (www.formami.univ-mrs.fr). The consortium is also hosting a colloquium, "Information and Education, The Cement of Nations, from INFO 2000 to e-Europe", from October 12-13 in Marseilles with some of the leading European experts in the field of new technologies. The organisers have called for papers up to the deadline of June 30. A book with a selection of the colloquium papers is planned.
