The Economic and Social Research Council is to increase funding for work on climate change "as a matter of urgency". It has also announced a £2.9 million International Centre for Lifecourse Studies in Society and Health, led by University College London, and it will create a £3.7 million Centre for Learning and Life Chances in Knowledge Economies and Societies. Further funding of £4 million for the Centre on Skills, Knowledge and Organisational Performance at Oxford and Cardiff universities has also been granted.
