If scientists from this country or universities had thought about their own roots and their own communities surrounding them perhaps those communities would also be happy about the E.U. However those people were forgotten, the universities lived in their own world and the chickens have come home to roost. Exactly why should the taxpayer give their hard earned money for some of the 'research' coming out of certain universities? You have failed to connect.
Hey genius, universities have for decades engaged with local and regional communities and businesses. They have also attempted to help solving problems that are national and global. Only two years ago, as per this same site, they generated 95 billion British sterling pounds to the UK economy. I know you have the need to rant against someone, but at least get your facts straight.
