Former dictator alarms tutor

Sammy Adelman, a Warwick University law lecturer, has threatened to withhold teaching from a former military dictator with a poor record in human rights who is expected as a student in September. Captain Valentine Strasser, 31, was deposed last year as head of state in Sierra Leone, where his troops were accused of torturing and ill-treating captives. An Association of University Teachers spokesman said it would discuss the matter in two weeks' time.
