* An investigation into the alleged illegal use of asbestos has been launched by the Health and Safety Executive at the University of Wales, Bangor. Some staff have been sent for medical screening and X-rays and the university has set up a special helpline for others at risk. The investigation is with a view to a criminal prosecution following the discovery that asbestos-containing boards were incorrectly usedby the estates department.
