Declining standards and inflation in qualifications to meet Government pressures? On page one (THES, May 26) GNVQ level 4 is to "replace HNDs", then "take over from diplomas". By the fourth column it will match "the standard of an honours degree, while restricting content to about two-thirds of a degree". By page three it is "broadly equivalent to a degree". I notice also that in the picture on page three "Mr John" has awarded himself an MA.
