In an article last week on the future of physics and chemistry we may have implied that Essex University had cut undergraduate physics and chemistry. In fact, Essex will stop recruiting students to study pure chemistry from September, but its physics department remains open and from September will take some students with places from the University of East Anglia, which is phasing out undergraduate physics.
