The Joseph Rowntree Foundation this week published From Life Crisis to Lifelong Learning: Rethinking Working-Class 'Drop Out' from Higher Education, a report examining working-class students' experience of higher education.

Based on the first study to explore how student drop-out impacts on disadvantaged provincial communities, the report focuses on Staffordshire, Glamorgan, Ulster and Paisley universities. Ex-students, members of the local community, employers and university staff were interviewed.
