Course teaches about life on The Street

Tameside College in Manchester has launched a ten-week course on soap operas. Society Through the Soaps will look at how characters are portrayed in TV series such as EastEnders and Coronation Street, and whether the programmes are true to life.

Course organiser Eric Fagan said there had been a good response. Students who complete the course will gain a Great Manchester Open College Federation level one credit.
