There is another aspect to the increase in the ageing university staff profile, of which an increasing proportion are female . . . I was not the only academic not only juggling elderly relatives, children AND managing the symptoms and often debilitating effects of menopause. This is an area of well-being that rarely gets an airing, but which affects many, many women, their families, their colleagues, and their careers.
