The Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council is to provide Pounds 600,000 for research aimed at developing environmentally friendly technologies. Projects include devices for generating electricity from running water without building huge dams, and mimicry of the chemistry used by cabbage leaves to turn carbon dioxide into complex chemicals.
