The British Library plans to launch a free dial-up internet service in two weeks.

British Library Net will provide unlimited free access round the clock, seven days a week to all users in the United Kingdom for the price of a local call.

The facility will include direct access to the library's online catalogue and to all other library web services. There will also be free, unique downloadable images from the picture library.
