So get up off your backsides and get other partners. What a lot of weak lot you appear. What about partners in Australia, China, USA and so on. What do you think you sound like. Do you hear Australia's scientists bleating like this. The fact is that universities have failed to support and utilise academic talent available in this country. As for so called EU funding. The funding comes from the taxpayer not the EU so start developing a conversation with them about their priorities. Universities need to be seen to support and foster the academic talent from the communities they are part of. By that I mean the people who are close to the university in geographical terms. Welcome to the world everyone else lives in, it is more vibrant and gets straight to the point. People, unless you haven't noticed are weary of synthetic hand wringing at others expense. As for all things international just bother to look outside your window occasionally.
