Chinese universities are being encouraged to forge closer links with African institutions. Ten have already established relationships with 20 establishments in 16 African countries. African students are to be offered a wider range of scholarships for postgraduate study in China, and Beijing will expand its teaching programmes in Africa, Chinese vice-minister of education Wei Yu said.
