I am a PhD student from the university of sydney. I have been waiting for my visa for the last 14 months.
Try rethinking the economics in line with person's life ambitions and what they prepared and can pay to meet mutual obligation for the education. The fool higher education decision makers thinks "everyone" wants to be a medical doctor, a lawyer, or an business executive like "them". Worse than fools, idiots if the economy has any intelligent meaning.
