The median earnings would be as interesting a figure, given the pareto distribution in some white collar and literary professions.

Don't believe it for a second. Trade persons have an advantage of setting up profitable businesses and have opportunities for expansion, philosophers don't

These stats are so misleading. It comes down to the individual their life options and life choices.
