Alexander takes up lifelong learning post

Wendy Alexander has been confirmed as minister for enterprise and lifelong learning in the Scottish cabinet.

She was named by her predecessor, Henry McLeish, the new first minister, who moved Sam Galbraith from education to environment, replacing him with Jack McConnell.
