Daniel is of course correct in that some university appeal hearings fall well short of what could be described as fair. I've been writing about that, off and on, for 20 years. Also as an ex-university administrator (not manager, please!) I handled quite a few cases, and advised the odd friend of a friend pro bono in some really awful cases involving universities in the top echelons of the league tables. Hopefully most universities do get it right, but Daniel is on the right track when he suggests training. Son told - either accept our decision that we think you cheated ( categorically proved wrong) or we will remove you from the course.-- of course he said yes to stay on the course. Many other discussions entered irrelevant to the case also brought forward. -- this used to be called a lynching-- deplorable
