In "Laughing all the way to the Left Bank" (Features, THES , March 8), we learn of two Cambridge academics who have bought flats in Paris because they were unable to afford properties in Cambridge.
The irony is that a major cause of high property prices in Cambridge is the fact that the university owns half the town, and few properties come on the market. I have remortgaged my over-valued Cambridge property and have bought a place in Provence. I look forward to moving and letting my house to an academic.
