A £19 million hub for the performing arts that will provide purpose-built facilities for students, professionals and the public has opened in Cornwall. The Performance Centre at University College Falmouth's Tremough campus has two large theatre spaces, dance studios and a fully equipped recording facility. Anne Carlisle, Falmouth's rector, said the centre, mostly funded by European Union money, was a "very positive" development for Britain's creative sector in a period of retrenchment.
