Student, 20, expelled after indecent assault

St Andrews University has expelled a male student convicted of indecently assaulting a female student in her hall of residence room. A university spokeswoman confirmed that modern history student George Reed, aged 20, had been expelled, but said she was unable to divulge the reasons until he had been informed of them in writing. The High Court in Aberdeen this week deferred sentence for a year on Mr Reed for the attack, which took place last October.
