The Shanghai authorities have closed 1 internet cafes in a crackdown days after new policies emerged from Beijing to control the internet more tightly. The authorities said the action was also in response to complaints from parents of students that their children were being allowed uncontrolled access to the web and exposure to pornographic and gambling-oriented software.
