Science and technology panel thinks small

The revamped Council for Science and Technology met for the first time this week. After previous allegations of secrecy, the council, which includes Sir Robert May, the government's chief scientific adviser, as well as 14 names from academia and industry, explained how it would operate in small, independent working parties, reporting to the council.
