A simulation laboratory to teach clinical operative skills has opened at the University of Liverpool. It allows students to learn intricate operative procedures by watching demonstrations on video screens. The dental school uses audio and video links between a tutor and 33 workstations. Students can watch procedures performed elsewhere in the hospital. The network also provides teleconferencing facilities to postgraduate teaching locations outside the university.
