An opposition MP has demanded that Italy's premier justify an annual payment of 79,000 euros (Pounds 55,000) assigned to the rector of La Sapienza University in July by the board of directors. Previously, Giuseppe D'Avanzo had only received an extra 7,900 euros on top of his salary as a professor.
