RAE praised for improving research quality

Gerry McKenna, chairman of the Heads of University Centres of Biomedical Sciences and pro vice chancellor of Ulster University, has praised the research assessment exercises as the single most effective instrument in improving research quality in the past 30 years. Professor McKenna, speaking at the HUCBMS annual conference at Wolverhampton University, said the quality and volume of research had improved dramatically.
