Pupils urged to aim high

An extra £130 million to encourage school pupils to consider university was announced by higher education minister Margaret Hodge this week as part of the AimHigher programme. The existing 91 AimHigher areas will get £70 million to continue until 2006, with 86 new areas getting around £60 million to join the scheme over the same period.
