One of Cardiff University's young researchers has picked up more than $100,000 (£50,000) in awards.

Danny Smith, a clinical lecturer in the department of psychological medicine, won $45,000 to support a research project from the American Psychiatric Association's AstraZeneca International "Young Minds in Psychiatry" award, and followed this up with a Young Investigator award 2007 from the National Association for Research into Schizophrenia and Depression.
