Old unis lag in work provision

Old universities trail other institutions in providing work experience, a survey says. The National Centre for Work Experience found that 150,000 students undertook academically recognised work experience in 1997-98. University colleges managed 26 per cent provision, new universities 14 per cent and old universities 10 per cent.
