Ofsted demands better reading skills

Many trainee teachers do not have enough experience teaching reading to whole classes, a report from schools' inspector Ofsted has said. An analysis of Ofsted's inspections of primary teacher training found that more than a third of teacher training providers needed to improve the training they give in assessment, recording and reporting of pupils' achievement.
