No confidence vote

Gerald Stockdale, principal of Swansea Institute of Higher Education, suffered another setback this week when the college's academic board registered a vote of no confidence in his leadership. The motion, which also cited vice principal Hywel Rees, was supported by 12 votes. Eight voted against, including professors Stockdale and Rees, both of whom refused to leave the meeting. There were three abstentions.
